The entertaining and informative ‘Connecting the Dots’ series is the culmination of a
background in leading-edge medical research coupled with a lifelong affinity for
travel and exploration, seasoned with an interest in the history of how things got
that way. Each presentations includes a little science, a bit of the history of the area
where this science manifests itself, and finally, a geographic location relevant to the
itinerary where one experiences the confluence of these forces.

Judging by the crowd he gathers, I suspect him to be the sloppiest eater on the reef!)

Dan Ostler graduated in Biophysics from the University of Waterloo and pursued a career in
medical radiation physics. Working in the areas of forefront research and product design, Dan

In retirement, his interest in the science behind the phenomena of nature and the cascading effect
of these interactions on the course of history has given rise to the thought provoking
‘Connecting the Dots’ presentation series.
Dan is a perennial shipboard favorite, presenting entertaining informative lectures on cruises all
over the world including Europe, South America, Africa, the South Pacific, and the Far East.
